How do you anchor the catio?Updated 14 days ago

Most of Habitat Haven's catios do not require anchoring to the ground, although you may certainly do so if you choose!

Three-sided catios and window enclosures should be secured directly to the home or some type of structure on the "open" side to secure them in place. This provides stability to these types of enclosures and ensures they cannot be easily moved or shifted out of place.

Four-sided catios are designed to stand on their own under their own weight, and do not need to be anchored to the ground or surface below. However, you certainly can anchor the catio if desired. The best way to do this will depend on whether your catio has a wire floor and the resting location of the catio.

For catios that sit on a hard surface like a deck or patio, you can use Loop Clips around the bottom edge wire of the wall panels paired with appropriate fasteners (not provided) - wood screws for decks, masonry screws for concrete, etc.

For catios that sit on soft ground like a lawn, garden, etc., you can use garden stakes to secure the bottom of the catio tight to the ground surface. (available for purchased directly from Habitat Haven upon request)
